To get rid of all that high speeds and crap on the mx500 i have a fix. 1)delete the mouseware. 2) if you still have the installer, then extract the mouseware to a folder using winzip or whatever you use. 3) goto your mouse in control panel, open it up and goto hardware then properties. 4) Drivers tab, then update drivers point it to that folder you extracted the mouseware to, and more specifically the OS you play in. This will only install the drivers, not the mouseware. Restart to take effect. Now if you want to fix acceleration, change the speeds of the mouse completely, and increase the dpi's or resolution, then you can change the registry settings... 5) run->regedit 6) Push F3 or edit at top and then goto find 7) Paste in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LMouFlt2\Parameters\OpticalMouse12\0000 this might take a minute to find. 8) Now in here you will see a bunch of crap. At the top you will see Acceleration which you can set to "On" or "Off." You will see a MouseSpeedX and a MousespeedY (x for horizontal, y for vertical) I have mine at 100 but you can set it at different speeds. It really depends on where that tab is set on your mouse speeds in your control panel version of mouse settings. Next you can change your resolution which is at the bottom to 8, which would be max.
